Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is often used to affect deeper muscles and their surrounding myofascial tissue. The surface muscles are warmed up first, and the therapist will continue to work deeper and deeper, staying in touch with you to make sure you’re not in too much pain. Pain will cause the muscles to tense up, and the desired effect won’t be achieved.

Deep tissue massage is slower, deeper, and causes a “hurts so good” type of pain. It can help release muscle tension not otherwise reachable, as well as break up surrounding scar tissue.
